How Robots are taking over our jobs

Robots have been described as machines that will eventually turn against us in the future. this thought has been influenced on us mainly by movies . remember I, Robots? truth is, Robots are already making people lose their jobs. You have likely spoken to an automated customer service representative if you’ve called your bank, smartphone provider, or any other customer service number recently. Many of these customer service systems eventually hand-off the call to a real human, but tech companies are working on advanced chatbots that do far more than just handle basic information collection. another example of a job that has been taken over by robots is film projectionist, a film projectionist was needed to run mechanical projectors with 35mm celluloid rolls. It was quite a physical and task that required an experienced operator to load the film reels and change them to keep the film running without a hiccup. other jobs that have been taken by robots include: check-out carrier, railway station ticket seller, factory seller, lift operator and others. Deloitte study from a few years ago showed that automation and robotics had killed off 800,000 jobs in the U.K. over a 15-year period. Robots will continue to take jobs as time goes by and a robot will become the president and rule us in future. this sounds absurd and most people will never want this to happen but that would be the best president we'll ever have. why? because robots never make mistakes and they will always do what is right as long as they are programmed to do so.

“... you just can't differentiate between a robot and the very best of humans. "

Isaac Asimov

Robots can also solve complex questions and analyse the best options in less than a second and take the best decisions within that second. you can try to prove me wrong by trying to solve maths faster than your calculator.  I think robots are the future and they will never turn on us as depicted in movies because we create them and we will program them to do what ever we want in the best way possible.

ROBOTS IN MILITARY
robots will do a better job in securing people, they won't shoot suspects due panic as some human police officers do because robots obviously don't panic unless they are programmed to panic, which won't be done because that is completely useless. they will take down criminals with ease. they would easily outrun suspects. during intense moments like hostage situations, standoffs and chases, they will be able to handle the situations without any tension or fear or any emotions at all, their only aim is to take down the opponent and they would do this in the smartest and best way possible with no mistakes. in hostage situations, they could easily disarm the suspects that might be a long distance away due to their impecable aim. they won't kill the enemy if we instructed them not to. when i type robots, most people imagine a metal in form of a human being, robots can exist in that form but not only that, they can exist as tiny as an ant to as big as a submarine. so definitely they can do things that human soldiers can't do, Right now, they’re used for reconnaissance and explosives. Soon, they’ll be on the battlefield alongside troops and that is the hard part but don't worry this won't be a problem in the future. in a robot army, the coordination and cooperation would be second to none. the unity of the team would be amazing because they would be working together at the same time and they communicate in seconds. the US army also said they need more robots in the army than humans.

ROBOTS IN MEDICINE
robots have already started to assist doctors in medicine by diagonizing patients. but we can only imagine if those robots were the doctors. they would never make a mistake. during a surgery, diagnosis would be so much more faster and safer. Robots would be so much more careful as every of their move would be almost perfectly calculated and calibrated, odds of a making a mistake would be close to zero. if a life is lost then a human would have never been able to save that life.

ROBOTS AS COMPANIONS
I have seen a robot dog named Aibo and Aibo is amazing, Aibo looks like a puppy, albeit a robo-approximation. It makes vaguely dog-like sounds, walks around, plays with toys, responds to commands, occasionally misbehaves and uses cameras and facial recognition technology to interact differently with each person it encounters. although they are not better than our real life dogs yet. they would never pee on our beds or poo on our rugs. never. these robot dogs can easily be distinguished from our real life dogs but in the future, there would be little to no difference between robot dogs like Aibo and our real life dogs. it has been predicted in this decade, humanoids(robots that look like us) would look almost the same way we do with little or no difference so duplicating your dog won't be a problem. now humanoids can be easily distinguished from humans. for example is the popular robot, Sofia. Sophia is a realistic humanoid robot capable of displaying humanlike expressions and interacting with people. even with her wonderful features depicting the future of robots, she can easily be distinguished from a real human. she was designed for research, education, and entertainment, and helps promote public discussion about AI ethics and the future of robotics. technology has always improved rapidly right from the ancient times, this growth will never stop. it's infinite and robots are the next step. Cars can be robots if programmed. I like to view the new tesla cars as a robot because of autopilot feature, some people have been caught sleeping on the steering wheel.

in the future, cars will be fully robotic and take us to our destinations while we sleep in the back seat, as the sensors become more sophisticated and as everything becomes more automated. Tesla plans to have a fleet of robotic taxis roaming the streets without drivers this year, Elon Musk has said. In the future, robotic cars will be able to take us to our destinations in seconds because cars will be faster and will have more control therefore flying cars might be the future of cars. your cars will be able to pick you up from your workplace, recharge itself at the appropriate time, clean itself and even diagnose itself and head to mechanic shop when It needs to . Robots will take over agricultural sectors and cultivate more land, help the environment more, grow food and deliver them from house to house. the age of human labour is coming to an end. this was meant to happen, it is the future. i don't know how payment will be made but I know physical cash will be non-existent due to advent of robots, the only humans who would have to work are the programmers and engineers, and they won't have to do much work. the sector of engineers and programmers would also be taken over when robots are programmed to create, think and make the world more automated faster than we do. every other sector will taken over by robots sooner than engineering sector. at first it might be disastrous as people lose their jobs to robots and it will cause protest, i know alot of people would fight against robots but in the end they would lose. the advent of robots might instigate fear among humans all around the world but then the government will device a way to feed the general public using these robots and we will all love them and accept as part of us.

ROBOTS WILL REDUCE DEPRESSION
Robots are getting more and more sophisticated. In the future when humainoids are very similar to us, humans. at the point where humanoids can hold an intelligent conversation with us and convince us they are humans. at this point, some part of the society would accept robots as another race of humans. this humanoids can be programmed to show love and care for every human no matter how much hate is thrown at them. this humanoids would make friends with humans and some might become our bestfriends. this will reduce depression in humans because everyone can get a "real" friend that can would die for them and love them till the end of time if they wanted. the closest we are to this is "sex dolls". most people will not want this due to cultural beliefs and that's understandable but at the end, Robots will roam the streets with us, live in houses like we do and also have most of the priviledges we humans do. during those times, when we meet someone in our workplaces or school or somewhere else, we would have to ask if the "person" is human or not. Robots are different from us because we have "consciousness" something that has been a mystery to everyone since the 1900s but in the future, it is predicted that we would be able to program consciousness and reality.

"Forty years ago we had Pong – two rectangles and a dot. That’s where we were. Now 40 years later, we have photorealistic, 3D simulations with millions of people playing simultaneously and it’s getting better every year. And soon we’ll have virtual reality, we’ll have augmented reality,” said Musk.

The difference between us and Robots of nowadays is that we are capable of thinking, solving problems and we have emotions.

"We're fascinated with robots because they are reflections of ourselves"
Ken Goldberg
