Drones would be used for delivery in the future

Drones will fill the sky in the future delivering different parcels to different houses. drone delivery is going start in the coming years due to environmental concerns and also to avoid traffic resulting in delay of delivery, companies are developing and testing delivery drones. Wing and Virginia Tech partnered to research the potential impacts of drone delivery. So far, this research suggests that in the Blacksburg-Christiansburg metropolitan area, drones possibly could take 3,385 cars off the road, save 40.2 tons of C02 each year, and save customers time worth US$46.6 million annually. taking 3,385 cars off the road is actually a very good as there is a 1 in 366 odd of getting into a car accident on 2020. from that, getting 3,385 would prevent at least 9 car accidents any of which can result in a fatality. Also, CO2 emission which is a major contributor to greenhouse effect would be reduced by 40.2 tons each year; the environment would be safer with drones. Drones used in delivery are much more efficient than cars because the traffic in the sky is way less than the traffic on the road therefore parcels or items would be delivered faster and safer.
"Drone delivery has the potential to radically improve the way we live by making the things we need in a hurry available in just minutes," said Alexa Dennett, a spokesperson for Wing.
When Drone delivery gets implemented, delivery of goods that have been ordered by customers would start only shortly after the customer makes the order; it could take only a few hours or minutes depending on the distance but one thing is for sure; it would be faster than regular delivery with cars, busses or bikes. Operations in Amazon prime Air were expected to begin in select cities starting late 2019; however, as of March 2020, the service has yet to materialize. The service uses delivery drones to autonomously fly individual packages to customers within 30 minutes of ordering.
Amazon executive Jeff Wilke announced at the company’s re:MARS conference in Las Vegas in 2019 said that the drones will be able to fly up to 15 miles and deliver packages under five pounds to customers in less than 30 minutes. While that may sound like a light load, Wilke said that between 75 and 90% of Amazon deliveries could technically be handled by the drone. this is Amazing! the drones are also autonomous, they would be able to perform tasks by themselves. Unfortunately, this would result in loss of jobs in Amazon as most truck drivers and other employees that deliver packages would be dismissed. in this decade, alot of jobs would done by robots and drones. A report in 2016 by PwC found out that drones could replace $127billion worth of human labour and services in several companies.
"As a faster, safer, and more environmentally friendly method of delivery, we believe drones will be commonplace in the near future," Alexa Dennett, a spokesperson for Wing told TechNewsWorld.
Most jobs that require only human vision and judgment, specifically from hard-to-reach vantage points, will likely have to confront the possibility of drones in the future.

People have already turned to drones as replacements for soldiers, pilots, and lifeguards.
